This scheduled 7-inning affair was a pitching duel through regulation. Ben Schooler started the game for the Rangers and allowed just 2 runs in the third inning. Brandon Saylor would follow with 3 shutout innings as the Rangers won 7-2 in 8 innings.
After the Machine took a 2-0 lead in the third inning on an RBI single from Kevin Reynolds and a sac fly from pitcher Andrew Madlinger, the Rangers would answer with 2 runs of their own to tie the game. Schooler followed with a run-scoring single. After Brandon Marshall singled, Kujo would plate Schooler on a groundout. Moyer then added another RBI knock to round out the scoring.
