Hits and runs were hard to come by as pitching and defense ruled the night as the Rangers held off the Machine 2-1 at Oak Grove Park. The Rangers could muster just 3 hits off Machine pitchers Andrew Madlinger and Brady Knizner. The Machine had a similar output off of Rangers pitchers Joe Becker and Ryan Qvick.

The Machine struck first after 2 infield throwing errors gave the Machine a 1-0 lead. The Rangers got an unearned run to tie the game in the fourth, from a throwing error after Nick Gilmore and Rob Pederson singled.

Rangers outfielder Cal Walters doubled to start the fifth, went to third on a dropped fly ball, and scored on a sac fly from Dominic Kuzujanakis. Walters' outfield assist from right field to third base cut down a potential tying run opportunity in the bottom of the sixth.

Joe Becker picked up his 4th win, going 6 innings with 4 strike outs. Ryan Qvick made it interesting in the bottom of the 7th, loading the bases with walks around 2 outs, but got a groundball to end the game, and earn his first MVABL save.
