Game  1

The eclipse came a day early as the Rangers' offense was blocked out in a 15-0 loss in 6 innings to the Dayton Wolves. The 28th Rangers' Opening Day was overshadowed by too many walks and errors to stay competitive. Despite out-hitting last year's league champs 7-5 and holding the Barhorst quartet hitless, the Rangers could not overcome the issuance of 17 free passes and 3 fielding miscues. Rob Pederson went 2-for-2 at the plate, and newcomers Andrew Duffield and Cory Heffron each had their first MVABL hits. The Rangers look to shine a little brighter in next Sunday's contest against the Machine at Carroll high school.

Wolves 15,
Rangers 0,
6 inn

Offensive highlights: Rob Pederson 2-for-2; Cory Heffron 2b.

Historical Notes: The Rangers drop to 17-11 all-time on Opening Day.
