Game  3

After back-to-back close contests against the league's top pitchers, the Rangers had a little easier time with the expansion North Dayton Nightmare on Sunday at Middletown Madison.  The Rangers had 12 different batters get hits in a 19-2 run-rule victory.

Kenny Owens tossed 2 shutout innings for his first MVABL win. Ryan Qvick followed with 2 shutout innings of his own including a pickoff. Hunter Kraynak got his first appearance of the season, allowing an earned run.

​

Nick Gilmore started the offense with a leadoff triple in the top of the first inning. Gilmore would then score on Rob Pederson's sac fly. In the second, Eric Becker had a sac fly and Chris Jones drove in another with a groundout.

​

The Rangers sent 14 batters to the plate in the third, scoring 9 times. Cooper Nolte hit an RBI single off the fence. Eric Becker and Jones added RBI singles. Gilmore had a 2 run-single, and Kyle Moyer added an RBI hit. The Rangers went out quietly in the fourth before sending 13 batters to the plate in the fifth, scoring 7 more times. Pederson had an RBI single. Kujo had a 2-run double, and Jones added a bases-loaded walk.

The Rangers will have a 10am morning contest on Sunday, June 21 for its first Father's Day game in a few years.
