Game  8

As the season comes to a brief hiatus, the Rangers move to 8-0 with a convincing 16-3 victory over the Xenia Scouts on Wednesday, June 7 at Howell Field. The win tied a franchise record for most consecutive regular season victories at 17. â€‹

The pitching staff played musical chairs as Eric Becker, Mike Seebock, Noah Schleinitz, and Markus Neff each tossed scoreless innings, while Joe Becker closed things out tossing the final three.

The offense, meanwhile, took advantage of six Scouts errors and prolonged innings with insurance runs to keep the game out of reach.

In the top of the first, Cooper Nolte continued his hot-hitting with a 2-run single. Two more came homeward as Nick Gilmore's hard grounder was misplayed. In the second, Jaret Quinn singled and scored on Eric Becker's double to left field to make it 5-0. Nolte added an RBI single in the third to take over the league lead in RBIs.

The lead increased to 7-0 in the fifth as Jesse Jones doubled and scored on Neff's single. In the 6th, Seebock had an RBI single, which resulted in another runner to score on a subsequent error.  Eric Becker added a sac fly, and Jones punched in a run-scoring single to make it 11-0.

The Scouts got their only runs in the bottom of the sixth on a 3-run home run.

In the top of the 7th, Brandon Ward hit a sac fly to score a run, and another run scored on an ensuing error. Two more runs scored later on errors, and Jones wrapped things up with another RBI hit.

Markus Neff picks up his first career win with a scoreless fourth inning of relief. Joe Becker tosses the final three frames to earn his second save of the season, and moves up the MVABL Saves leader charts to second place all-time with 8. He now has 9 for his career including postseason.
