The Rangers met up with the expansion Dayton Stars for the first time this season and walked away with a pair of run-rule decisions, 21-0 and 21-1. 

​

In game one, Shawn Schmitt allowed 1 hit in three innings to pick up his 75th career victory as a member of the Rangers.  Joe Becker, Eric Becker, Matt Delbridge each scored four runs. Matt Delbridge also had a career-best 4 RBIs, and Ryan Meinert had season-high 4 RBIs. Jonmarc Lippincott led the team with 3 hits.

In game two, Joe Becker scattered 4 hits over four innings to pick up his 5th win of the season. Joe also recorded his first career triple and finished with 8 runs scored on the day, reaching base safely in all 8 plate appearances. Meinert also reached safely in all 7 plate appearances, going 4-for-4 with 4 runs scored and 4 RBIs. Lippincott went 4-for-4 with 2 doubles and 6 RBIs. Eric Becker had 3 hits and 3 RBIs. Nick Gilmore was 2-for-3 with 3 runs scored and 2 RBIs. Todd Peck had two hits, including a double. Richard Kensinger, subbing on the day, went 3-for-3 with 3 runs scored.
