The Rangers' first weeknight game of 2016 showed a lack of offensive support in a 4-3 loss to the Wild Boars at Action Sports Center.

The Rangers had no answer for Boars' starter Travis Knight, who was rolling early on, striking out 9 Rangers batters in the first 4 innings. Meanwhile the Boars built a 4-0 lead on Rangers starter Ryan Meinert. It took the seventh inning to come around before the Rangers took advantage of some walks, 5 to be exact, to plate 3 runs. But the Rangers left the bases loaded as closer Brandon Lucas struck out the final batter to end the game.
