Game  29

In a game played just over an hour, the Rangers (24-4-1) overpowered the visiting Diamondbacks, 21-1 in 4 innings, at Gastineau Field on Tuesday night.

Joe Becker allowed an unearned run on 3 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 3 to move to 8-0 on the season. In doing so, Becker passed former Rangers teammate Shawn Schmitt for sole possession atop the league's all-time Wins list with 71 regular season victories. He also became the second player in league history to accumulate 700 innings pitched in MVABL play.

While Joe was setting the tone on the mound, the offense was running on full cylinders against the 3-win Dbacks squad. The Rangers put up 12 runs in the first inning as Rob Pederson, Brandon Ward, and Cooper Nolte each had multiple hits in the frame. Nolte had a 2-run single. Kyle Moyer had a 2-run double. Ward and Mark Carpenter had RBI doubles. Ward, Jesse Jones and Mike Seebock had run-scoring singles as well.

In the second inning, Nolte added a 2-run single to make it 14-0. The Dbacks scored on an error in the top of the third to make it 14-1.

History came about in the bottom of the third as Ward and Jesse both hit inside-the-park home runs in the inning for their first Rangers longballs.

With the score at 18-1 heading in to the bottom of the fourth, Seebock laced a 2-run single, and Jones ended things with a walk-off, bases-loaded single for the final 21-1 tally.

Jesse Jones had his first 4-hit, 4-run, and 5-RBI performance with his new club.
